I’m not a big traveler for money and time reasons and even if I was, road tripping wouldn’t be my first choice. But, if I had to take a road trip, it would be to go it alone. Jumping in the car by myself, following my own rules and itinerary, and going as slow or as fast as I want is ideal. It matters less of where I’m going, but the time to be by myself is most important. I’m not a strict person when I do travel so alone would best so I can be spontaneous with no restrictions.

With that being said, I love to read and I’ve seen pictures on social media of really quaint and cute book stores in other states that I would like to visit. I also like to hike, so some cool hiking spots around the US would also have to make the list. For my final destination, I would like to end up in California. I went to California once when I was young and it was just the most peaceful place I had been at that time. I remember being on the beach, riding the trolley, and just the feel of the sun and the freeness of California. I find myself going back there in my mind when I sometimes need that feeling and I would love to find that magic as an adult.

If I’m honest though, I probably wouldn’t finish the whole road trip. I would find the nearest state with lots of sun and a trail or two to hike, visit a few nice bookstores, buy some books that are on my to-read list, and find the nearest beach to read on.
