Jasmine Nicole

The person who inspires me is my daughter, Brooklyn. From the day she was born, she has been the catalyst and inspiration for me to become a better person, a more whole person.

I often say how my daughter is everything that I am not. She is so brave and so proud of who she is and she inspires me to be that way too. Children are so magical in the way that they force you to take a mirror to yourself at times and see who you are because they mimic everything that you do. As a mother, I want so much for my daughter to grow into a person who leaves this world better than she found it. In order to do that, I have to make sure I set an example for her that shows her what looks like. Who I’ve grown into in the past 5 years was all inspired by making sure my little girl has a great role model to look up to.

It’s crazy to believe that a 5-year-old does this for me, but every day I watch her, and I see her personality and her spirit soar, and I’m inspired. Where I’m often scared to leave my comfort zone, she isn’t and I’m inspired to get out face life. She inspires me to be brave and keep going. She inspires me to stand up for myself and be better because it’s only that I can really be there for her when I am whole.
