I think a treasure that’s been lost is authentic enjoyment- let me explain.
I feel like so much of what people do today is content. We dance for content; we go our to eat for content, we even sleep for content (I know you’ve seen one of two Tik Tok lives of people sleeping).
And don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that because if it’s making you coin or putting you in a position to get to some coins, do you!
However, nothing we do seems authentically for fun. When was the last time you did something fun and you didn’t reach for your phone to snap a picture so that you could post it?
Don’t worry, I’ll wait……
And I’m not innocent at all, because there’s been many times where I was going back and forth with myself to post or not to post pictures of being out at a party, or being a little upset that I didn’t get pictures of an outing so that I could include them in my Snapchat story.
Then there’s the proverbial question(s) : Was the party a hit if you didn’t post about it? Did you go to the gym if you didn’t take a IG story worthy selfie afterward? Is the outfit still fire if you didn’t tweet about it?
No, that’s not the real proverbial question, but you get my point. We live our lives through the lens of content, content, content. I’ve heard people say that everything is content, but when does content end and authentic enjoyment begin?
